JAN 6 / !!!!!!!!

Tra la la! It's over! 365 days later. Done.
When I first started the diary comic I told Scott that there would be no more than 2 panels of my face in a day's comic (or something close to that). And that it would be funny. I definitely failed at the first part. And I found out it's hard to make a joke every day when you're not feeling it.
I'm lost for words on how I feel about the whole thing.
McSweeney's published a prototype newspaper called "Panorama" in December. In it there was an article about the Camino del Santiago. It is a road in France/Spain that Christians used for pilgrimage to be forgiven their sins. In the article it recounts every day on the Camino from the perspective of two friends. While they get blisters and infections on the walk they lose sight on why they are doing this epic walk. Then they realize they never had a reason to do it in the first place. They were not doing it for repentance. Really, all they wanted was to go for a nice stroll and to clear their heads so they could be more creative.
Instead, of course, they went through tons of suffering in vain. And as they, themselves, wrote--didn't get much of anything out of it except dirty clothes and fucked up feet.
What I am trying to express is the same thing. It was nice to know I could do this everyday. And that drawing sloppy can still look somehow appealing. But, it is only a journal with doodles. And it was a pain in the ass.
I am excited for Scott's daily comic finishing up. He has put more effort into the approach/creation than I did. And his work is worth revisiting several times.
As for this blog: it's still in the air. Do I start a new one or do I add on to this one and change the layout? Only time will show/tell us!
Thanks for reading,
Argel
